Description
Congratulations! Your scholarly achievement distinguishes your potential for excellence at Otterbein University.
You are invited to compete at Scholars Day for one of three full-tuition academic scholarships for your four years of study.
This event will take place virtually. You will get a chance to engage with the faculty and other students who share your academic goals and talents.
**Please use the email you used on the Common Application to register for this event.**

- Three (3) scholarships are awarded
- -Students will be notified by the end of February if chosen
Due to the value of this award, it replaces all other Otterbein institutional aid. Students are NOT able to transfer Merit Scholarships towards Room & Board
Yes, the scholarship is renewable for 4 years, but requires a 3.0 GPA to renew.
Yes, students will not lose any other scholarships they have been granted already.
No, you will complete the essay on Saturday, Feb 6, 2021 and will be given 1 hour to complete and submit your essay.
You will receive an essay prompt during the online event. Your essay will either be related to an article or a video (along with a transcript) you will receive via email on February 1st. Students can take and reference notes on the article/transcript
You will type and save a word document and email it to scholars@otterbein.edu. Once emailed, you will receive an automatic reply from the email address indicating you have successfully submitted your essay.
We will provide more details (Zoom Links, etc) the week before, and here is the schedule:
- 1:00pm - Welcome
- 1:05pm - Faculty Session
- 1:50pm - Essay Prompt & Instructions
- 2:00pm - Write Essay
- Submission Deadline 3:00pm
We will host additional, optional sessions the week before an following the event
- Meet the Deans, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 6pm
- Financial Aid, Individual Sessions
- Celebration, Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 6pm
